Son of Richard and Daisy Nelson; husband of Leta Nelson, of Darlington.
Buried at DARLINGTON WEST CEMETERY
He was initiated on the 13th October 1938 and is described in the petition book as Flight Sergeant, stationed at R.A.F. Montrose.

William Paton Aged 33, Second Engineer Officer,


S.S. Baron Kelvin (Ardrossan), Merchant Navy.
Who died on the 19th October 1941. Ship torpedoed by German Submarine whilst in convoy, near Gibraltar.
Son of Robert P. and Alison Paton; husband of Mary F. Paton, of Dundee.
Remembered with honour on the TOWER HILL MEMORIAL. London.

He was Initiated on the 10th April 1930, described as an Engineer living at 'Rocklea', Broughty Ferry.

Age 26, who died on the 10th November 1941. Buried at BARNHILL CEMETERY.

He was initiated on the 13th May 1937, Described as a Fisherman residing at 326 Queen Street, Broughty Ferry.

Son of Mr & Mrs Gall, 326 Queen Street, Broughty Ferry. Prior to joining up on active service he was an employee of Dundee Harbour Trust.

John Thomson Donaldson, Captain, S.S. Bengloe, Merchant Navy


Aged 40, Died 26th May 1945 and buried at sea. Commemorated on the TOWER HILL MEMORIAL, LONDON.

He was initiated on the 10th April 1930, aged 25, recorded as an Ship’s Officer residing at 71 Brown Street, Broughty Ferry

Alexander Riach TonnerAged 31, Warrant Officer Class II, 2nd Bn., Seaforth Highlanders


who died on the 14th July 1943. He was the sSon of Charles and Elsie R. Tonnar; husband of Margaret I. S. Tonnar, of Edinburgh. Buried at SYRACUSE WAR CEMETERY, SICILY.

Initiated on the 27th April 1940, Sergeant, Seaforth Highlanders, c/o Bartlett, 43 Morrison Street, Edinburgh

David Reid Tait, Pilot Officer, 166 Sqdn., Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve

 

Aged 23, who died on the 25th April 1944. Son of David Reid Tait and of Mary A. Tait (nee McKenna), of Broughty Ferry, Dundee.
Buiried at AVESNES-SUR-HELPE COMMUNAL CEMETERY, France.

Initiated 10th October 1940. Described in the petition book as a Law Apprentice, residing at 14 Castle Terrace, Broughty Ferry.
